Winifred B. (Dundon) Hares AUBURN - Winifred B. (Dundon) Hares, of Canoga Road, Auburn, died Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 at The Heart of Georgia Hospice
Inpatient Center in Perry, Ga., after a long illness.
Winifred, fondly known as Winnie was born Oct. 25, 1929 in Geneva, N.Y., the daughter of the late John and Leona Dundon.
Her family moved to Auburn where she graduated from (Auburn) East High School. On Aug. 27, 1949, she married Earl K. Hares
and resided at Canoga Road where they raised their family. Winnie continued to reside at the family home for most of her life.
Winnie was employed for many years at General Electric/Power X on West Genesee Street Road, Auburn, and then at Walmart
(pharmacy) in Auburn.
Winnie was predeceased by her loving husband, Earl K. Hares on June 20, 1984 with whom she is reunited.
Winnie, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother is survived by her four children: three sons, Kirk M. Hares, of Auburn,
Kevin (Linda) Hares, of Aurelius, and Kim (Michele) Hares, of Tampa, Fla.; one daughter, Donna L. (Scott) Dymond, of Perry, Ga.;
six grandchildren, Kate Hares, Andrew Hares, Ashley (Hares) Colon, Josh Hares, Earl Dymond, and Alisha (Dymond) Burnett; six
great-grandchildren, Hunter Martin, Brantley McBride, Sydney Hares, Alexis Colon, Alena Colon, and Christian Burnett.
Always outgoing, Winnie enjoyed in retirement her daily outing to McDonald's with friends and lunch gatherings with the Hares family.
Winnie was predeceased by her two brothers, John (Jack) and Richard Dundon, both of Auburn.
Survived by one sister, Sister Joan Marie, of Williamsville, N.Y.; brother-in-law, Bill (Virginia) Hares, of Union Springs; sisters-in-law,
Jean Sherman, of Centralia, Wash., and Evelyn (Allan) Finch, of Auburn; along with several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements for the family are from 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016 at Langham Funeral Home LLC, 75 E. Genesee St.,
Auburn. Burial will immediately follow in Fleming Rural Cemetery.
