William (Butch) Wagner Walsh
AUBURN | William Wagner Walsh (Butch), 85, passed away peacefully Friday,
January 23, 2015 at Central Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Syracuse.
Born in Syracuse, he was the son of the late Thomas and Loretta (O'Leary) Walsh. William was a graduate of St. Bonaventure University and was an Army
veteran serving as a 1st Lt. in the Korean Conflict. Bill was a chemist, product engineer, and ended his formal career with the City of Auburn where he was employed in the Department of Recycling and Waste Management. His great loves were his family, playing piano, and his many entrepreneurial accomplishments.
He is survived by his five children, Michael (Lisa) Walsh, Daniel (Nancy) Walsh, Patti (Bob) Spires, Peggy (Toni) Walsh, and Chris (Pam) Walsh; six
grandchildren, one great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Joan (Wilson) Walsh in 1999; and by his brothers, Adam (Jack), Thomas (Jitch) and Arthur Walsh.
Calling hours will be Thursday, January 29 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Langham Funeral Home, LLC, Auburn. A Mass of Christian burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Alphonsus Church, followed by burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Finger Lakes or to the Wounded Warrior Project in memory of William Walsh.
