William J. Kehoe, 84, of Rochester, NY passed away Friday, October 28, 2016 at Benincasa Hospice Care in Mendon, NY.
Born in Jersey City, he was the son of the late William J. and Evelyn (Dolan) Kehoe. William served in the Army during the Korean War.
He received his A.B. in English and Classics from St. Peters College in 1953 and his PhD in Psycholinguistics from the University of Rochester in 1976. He dedicated his career to education, including positions as a teacher, professor, and school psychologist in the Greater Rochester area and overseas.
He is survived by his six children, Michael (Kate) Kehoe, Ellen Schwartz, Cathleen Kehoe, Patrick (Margaret) Kehoe, Maureen Kehoe and Devon (Tamra) Kehoe; a brother, Charles Kehoe; 12 grandchildren, Siobhan, John, Colleen, Marissa, Alex, Brendan, Claire, Mia, Tessa, Webster, Callan and Mae and many nieces and nephews.
William was predeceased by his parents, his wife of 62 years, Maura (Cuddy) Kehoe, and by two sisters, Elizabeth Gschwind and Marjorie Saponaro.
Auburn calling hours will be Tuesday, November 1 from 5-7pm at Langham Funeral Home, LLC, Auburn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30am at Sacred Heart Church, Auburn. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming.
Calling hours in Rochester will be Thursday, November 3 from Noon till 3pm at Crawford Funeral Home.
