William Russell Beckwith (Bill) was born in Newark, NY on May 28, 1942 and passed away on July 23, 2025 in his home beside Owasco Lake. In Klosters, CH and at “the lake” in Auburn, NY, Bill brought joy and harmony to many.
As a milk man, tech entrepreneur, real estate developer, movie producer, restauranteur and humorist, he lived generously. He was heavily involved in computers at their inception, created a computer sales/leasing business, and published the first computer magazine for Kids in 1984, Digit. Bill produced a race car film starring Paul Newman and was a steward for the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Bill’s family includes, brother James Beckwith (Sidney), sisters Joan Braffet (Mickey) and Sue Dewis (Lester) and several nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews! He had many wonderful and caring friends. His wisdom, humor, and love of music will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Owasco Watershed Lake Association (OWLA) which can be found at owla.org. Please visit www.Langhamfuneralhomellc.com to leave a condolence.
