Louis Lee Obituary

Louis A. Lee, 84, of N. Division Street Road, Auburn,
passed away Tuesday,
January 13th, 2015 at Auburn Community Hospital after a brief illness.
Louie was born July 4th, 1930, a son of the late
James and Ermina Hopkins Lee.
He served with the United States Army in the Korean War and was a recipient of the Purple Heart and a member
of the Korean War Veteran's Association.
He was a former member of the Cayuga Volunteer Fire Department and a former fire commissioner for the Throop Fire Department.
Louie was an avid shooter and member of the Falcon's Sportsmen Club.
He loved camping and traveling and visited most of the United States with his family.
He was also a
member of Seneca Sam's Camping Club and a Corvair fan and long-time member
of the Central NY Corvair Club.
Louie was a corrections officer at Sing-Sing and Auburn prisons as well as the Aurelius Town Justice for many years.
He retired from Guaranteed Parts Company in Seneca Falls.
He married Dorothy Starbuck in Auburn on August 6, 1955.
Along with his wife of 59 years, Lou is survived by his daughter Debi and son-in-law Paul Pierce of West Carthage, grandchildren Diana Pierce Hallenbeck and husband Michael of Gloversville,
Michael Pierce and wife Tricia of Theresa and Scott Pierce of Berwyn Heights, Maryland as well as five wonderful great-grandchildren; Sam, Lucy, Jackson, Finley and Stella.
He is also survived by sister Susan Petersen of Lincoln Hills, California and many wonderful nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A special thanks goes to Bradley and Kevin Thurston for their support during Lou's hospital stay as well as the staff at the CCU.
Louie was predeceased by his parents and also siblings Katherine, Donald and Shirley.
There are no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held in the spring.
Donations in Louie's name may be made to the Starbuck Scholarship Fund at the Auburn Methodist Church or the Throop Fire Department.
