Karen Nadherny Obituary

Karen M. Nadherny, 67, of Owasco, NY, passed away with her family by her side on May 3, 2024 at Crouse Hospital. Karen was born in Auburn, NY the daughter of the late David and Bernice (Caliendo) Burns. She was a 1974 Auburn High School graduate and a proud member of the Purple Lancers Drum & Bugle Corps.

Karen was an Enrolled Agent with the IRS for over 29 years and was a self-employed tax accountant with KMN Tax Services.

No matter what the occasion, Karen's home was always the focal gathering place for family and friends. She took great pride organizing and planning each family event with extensive detail and passion. She had a love for cooking and always made it a point to share while cooking her recipe tips and family secrets.

Karen was an avid collector of light houses which were displayed throughout her home providing a sense of direction, safety and hope through challenges and difficult times. She loved the beach and her visits to Fort Myers and looked forward to her bowling league and tournaments. Karen had a deep love for dogs especially her springer spaniels.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Eric R. Nadherny; two sons, Joseph and Nicholas Nadherny; two sisters, Kathleen (Anthony) Lorini and Susan Burns; a brother, Mitch Caliendo; three nephews, TJ Caci, David (Callie) Caci and their children, Sophia, Gemma and Maddox, Matt (Marlena) Caci and their child Katalina.

Visiting hours will be Wednesday May 8 from 11-1 at Langham Funeral Home, LLC followed by a funeral prayer service at 1:15pm. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in Karen's name may be made to Owasco Fire Department, Station # 1, 7174 Owasco Rd., Auburn, NY 13021.
