James J. Connors, 82, of Franklin Street, Auburn, passed away unexpectedly at his home on August 2, 2025. Born in Auburn, he was the son of the late John and Stella Swiontek Connors. James was a Marine Veteran who served from 1960 to 1966. Following his enlistment he obtained his associates degree from Auburn Community College. James retired in 1992 from Auburn Correctional Facility where he was a guard for over thirty years.
He was known for his love of simple pleasures which were guided by routine, kindness, and resourcefulness. He enjoyed his daily walks, tending to his garden and sharing with others, and meeting with friends over coffee at local diners.
He is survived by his daughter Denise (Mark) Loerzel; siblings Patricia (Tom) Baroody and Tom (Diane) Connors; a granddaughter Kristine Kaye and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother John Connors.
A private family burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
