Henry J. Ostrander, 73, of Melone Village, Auburn, passed away suddenly Friday, February 6, 2015 at Auburn Community Hospital.
Born in Syracuse, he was the son of the late John Henry and Mary Balamut, Sr.
Henry enjoyed his job traveling
as a
truck driver for Swift Transportation .
He had a love for animals, motorcycling, race cars , blue grass music and watched the 700 Club faithfully.
Surviving are his five children, Henry Ostrander, Jr., Tammy (Charles Askew) Cardinale, David (Paula) Ostrander, Ronald (Kathy) Ostrander and Eric (Teresa Derby) Ostrander; a brother Leslie Ostrander; three sisters, Carol Torzon, Jeannette (Richard) Randel and Debbie (James) Palmieri; 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Harold Ostrander and his grandmother Yvonne Dumas Ostrander who raised him in Solvay, his wife, Sandra Lee Ostrander, a daughter, Jeannette Carol Ostrander and by a brother George Henry Balamut.
Calling hours Thursday, February 12 from
11:30 to 1:30 with funeral to follow at 1:30 at Langham Funeral Home.
Burial will be in
Soule Cemetery.
