George Allhusen, 99, of Aurelius, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Auburn Community Hospital. George was born in Poughkeepsie, NY the son of the late George and Edna (Winans) Allhusen. He received his bachelor's degree from Cornell University and made a career specializing in farm management. He was previously employed with Beacon Milling Company and Farm Credit Service and retired from Cornell Cooperative Extension. Following his retirement, he managed and operated his own consulting business, Allhusen Small Business.
George had many past times and interests. He relished his time with his growing family, took great pride in the care and maintenance of his lawn, enjoyed his time on the computer and opportunities for walks in the fresh outdoors. He was a member of the Auburn Alliance Church where he sang in the church choir.
He is survived by his three children, Sharon (Henry) Cummings, Chris (Rick) Chalupnicki and Gary (Virginia) Allhusen, a son -in- law Paul Tavener, and was blessed by 32 wonderful grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grands. In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his loving wife of 61 years, Shirley (Filkins) Allhusen on June 27, 2006, their daughter Donna Tavener and his siblings, Alice Lima and Donald Allhusen, a grandchild and a great grandchild.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 22 from 3:30 to 4:30 pm with a service to follow at Langham Funeral Home,LLC., 75 E. Genesee St., Auburn. Spring burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Cayuga. In lieu of flowers, contributions in George's name may be made to the Auburn Alliance Church, 630 N. Seward Ave., Auburn, NY 13021.
