Flossie J. Corfield

Flossie J. Corfield, 92, of Genesee Garden Apartments, Auburn, passed away peacefully December 1, 2018 at Auburn Community Hospital.
Born in Auburn, she was the daughter of the late William and Fannie Tanner Sherman.
Flossie was very active and social right into her late years.
She enjoyed crafts and traveling, casino trips with friends and entertaining and planning parties.
She loved spending time with her family and all her friends at Genesee Garden Apartments.
Flossie, along with her late husband, James, was a member of the Throop Volunteer Fire Department for many years and was the first woman to join the NYS Fire Police.
She is survived by her son Dale Corfield; five grandchildren, James O'Connor, Jesse Corfield, Marissa Corfield, Michelle Corfield and Gordon Corfield;
three great grandchildren, James D. O'Connor, II,
Jasper E. O'Connor and Julian Leader; by four sister in-laws, Joyce and Jean Sherman, June Vanamburg and Gloria Sissom and by several nieces and nephews.
Flossie was predeceased by her loving husband James R. Corfield in 2010, by her son James Thomas. "JT" Corfield and by her
five sisters and two brothers.
Family will greet friends on Tuesday December 11 from 10:30 to 11:30am at Langham Funeral Home, 75 E. Genesee St., Auburn. Graveside prayers will be held at the convenience of the family in Throopsville Cemetery.
