Edna Bielowicz Obituary

Edna M. Bielowicz, 94, of 15 Holley St., Auburn, passed away November 23, 2016 at her home.
Born in Auburn, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Vera (Smith) Bowers.
Edna was a graduate of Union Springs Central High School and a 1943 graduate of Auburn City Hospital where she received her degree in nursing.
She was employed by local hospitals and agencies as a registered nurse and in the early 1960's became the case worker for the Cayuga County Dept. of Social Services.
She retired in 1981 as the director of home care services for the City and County.
Edna enjoyed spending time with her family and her pastimes included reading, gardening and history.
She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary and Zonta International.
She was communicant of Holy Family Church.
She is survived by her three sons, Stanley, Paul and his wife Melanie, and Norman; three grandchildren, Anna Koetter and David and Frank Bielowicz;
by a great granddaughter Emma Koetter, and sister-in-law Carol Bowers.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Theodore C. Bielowicz in 2003, a daughter Annette Doyle, also in 2003, and by two brothers David and Daniel Bowers.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, November 30 from 2:30-4pm at Langham Funeral Home, LLC with a prayer service and committal to follow at 4pm.
Spring Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Cayuga.
