Dorothy Palmer Obituary

Dorothy Louise Palmer, 93, formerly of Kings Court and Boyle Center passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Auburn Nursing Home following a short illness.
Dorothy was the daughter of the late George and Myrtle Waby Palmer and grew up in Auburn living for a time in the gate house on the corner of Owasco St and Melrose Ave.
This house in the 1920's was the entrance to the Melrose Mansion where her father worked.
When she was in her early teens she was employed by the Emerson family at their home on East Lake Rd.
In later years she was the medical secretary for Dr. Gomoll.
She loved her Trinity Methodist Church where for many years she was the church organist and choir member.
When she lived at Kings Court she had an organ in her apartment which she played often and every day of her life she read the Holy Bible.
Dorothy was a generous and giving person and during her recent illness, it was discovered that for the past 30 plus years she gave each month to as many as 30 charities.
She was predeceased by her only sibling June Palmer.
Dorothy will join her in a private committal service at the family plot in Fort Hill Cemetery as per her wishes.
She is survived by close friends George and Jean Kerstetter.
Those desiring may make contributions in her memory to the Auburn United Methodist Church.
