Donald Richard Thomas

Donald Richard Thomas, 91, of 38 Melrose Rd., Auburn, passed away August 24, 2017 at Finger Lakes Center for Living.
Born in Auburn, he was the son of the late Elon and Hazel (Teeter) Thomas.
Donald was a WW II Navy veteran and was a retired machinist where he was employed at Alco for many years.
In his earlier years, he enjoyed attending
his children's musical events and in recent years one of his favorite past times was making and restoring lamps.
He was an enthusiast of boxing and found enjoyment in gardening.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Glenon McMullin Thomas;
three children, David (Kathie) Thomas, Donna (Lon) Chase and Glenn (Katrina) Thomas; brothers Roland(Betty), Gerald, LeRoy, and James (Patricia) Thomas and a sister Joan Thomas.
Also surviving are six grandchildren, a great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours.
A private family service and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Owasco Fire Dept. or to the American Cancer Society in memory of Donald.
