Barbara Jean Jakaub, 80,
wife of the late Stanley F. Jakaub, died surrounded by her family on January 1, 2015 at Auburn Community Hospital.
Born in Elbridge, she was the daughter of the late
William and Fannie Tanner Sherman.
Barbara retired from TRW in Union Springs after 25 years of employment and was an active former girl scout leader for 25 years.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
She is survived by four daughters, Constance (Richard) Kapcha, Cynthia (Ronald) Deyo, Cheryl (Michael) Jensen and Colleen (Roger) Henry; five sons, Stanley (Jeanne), Stephen, Scott, Shawn (Renee) and Stacy Jakaub; grandchildren, Shannon Kapcha, Richard (April) Kapcha, Jr., Timothy (Amanda) Jakaub, Melissa Deyo, Stanley Jakaub III, Susan (Peter) Wiley, Christopher Lawton, Carrie (Adam) O'Brien, Matthew and Tyler Jensen, Stephen, Katelyn, Shayne and Kelsee Jakaub, Cassandra and Brian Henry, Amanda (Matthew) Kelley and Kimberly Jakaub; a sister Flossie Corfield, sister-in-laws Joyce and Jean Sherman; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and close friends Thomas and Ruth Pigman.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Barbara was predeceased by a daughter and son-in-law Carolynn and Craig Lawton and by her four sisters and two brothers.
Friends are invited to visit the family on Monday, January 5, 2015 from 4-7pm at Langham Funeral Home, Auburn.
A private family service will be held Tuesday with burial in Lakeview Cemetery, Cayuga.
In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to Cayuga Fire Department in memory of Barbara.
