Anne Austin Sanders Devenpeck , 92, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025 in Bradenton, Florida.
She was born on July 5, 1932, in Watkins Glen, New York, to parents Carlton Hanford Austin and Emma Woodward Austin. As a child Anne lived in Watkins Glen and later moved to Auburn, New York. She attended Union Spring Central School. She moved to Sarasota, Florida in 1978.
Anne was predeceased by two siblings, Penelope Jane Austin, and William Carlton Austin. Anne is survived by her four children; Susan J. Barker of Alpine, California, Thomas C. Sanders (Karen) of Chapel Hill, NC, Laura L Sanders of Manchester, NH and Alan W. Sanders of Elbridge New York. Anne is survived by four grandchildren: J. Smith Sanders of Leesburg Virginia, and Marisa Anne Sanders of Miami Florida, Garrett Sanders Coapman of Manchester, NH, Evan Delaney Sanders of Camillus, New York and a nephew Aaron Austin of Aurora, Colorado.
Anne was employed at Beacon Milling Company in Cayuga New York and later as a Head Teller and a Customer Service Representative for then Marine Midland Bank. Anne retired from the Bank of America in Sarasota Florida as a Customer Service Representative in 1995. She worked part time as a Westfield Concierge and later volunteered for the Doctor’s Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary in Sarasota Florida. She was a Past President and lifelong member of the Lakeview Chapter #468 of the Order of Eastern Stars. She was a member of First Methodist Church in Sarasota, and a member of the Board of Directors for the Barrington Woods Condominium Association. She was a wonderful cook, enjoyed entertaining, loved gardening and was an avid cat lover. She leaves behind memories that will be cherished by many family and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a charitable donation to Doctor's Hospital Auxiliary Volunteers at hcahopefund.com/donate. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 12 at 10:30 am in the Bradley Chapel at Fort Hill Cemetery in Auburn, New York with burial to follow.
